There's been a decent amount of work and development into the domain. The layout is completely custom, as is all of the programming. The news system is on auto-pilot, and it's also something I wrote. The whole thing could probably be easily tweaked for use on other sites.

Saddam.com is PR4 and is on the 1st page (second or third result) for a whole range of Saddam-related searches on MSN/Live, Yahoo, and more. Traffic ranges from a few hundred to 2k uniques per day. Pageviews are typically 5x that amount.
It's making a respectable revenue stream with a high CTR.
