Not sure if this is the right forum for this question. I received an enquiry about one of my domains, interesting in buying. Its not actually listed for sale, well it wasn't until recently.

Is it safe to trade outside say, Sedo, Afternic or GoDaddy, and just use Paypal for the transaction. Is it 100% safe? I've heard bad things from time to time, where the money goes in, then they (the buyer) reverse the transaction once the domain has been transferred...

We're not talking a huge sale price here, probably low to mid xxx.

Any thoughts on this please? Hope this is the right forum to bring this up...

Use escrowdns.com and have the buyer pay the fee, safest way.

Never use paypal for someone you don't know or don't trust. Especially on virtual goods.

I used to own it and still work for them. We provide a fast, carefree service for the seller.

That's right, you have more recourse with physical/tangible goods with Paypal...funny in this day and age that hasn't changed. Thanks ppl, appreciate the advice

Hey Rockefeller, the security certificate for that site is invalid (AEST 17:30pm), well within Firefox anyway. You might want to check it out. Seemed to be OK the other day when i checked the site out. I was about to use it for a sell transaction but this spooked me a little bit :uhoh:

See below:

escrowdns.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.

(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
