Safest way to dispose of TM domains?

You can request from your registrar that he delete the domains.

But, this is not something that can be done by hitting a button.

You have to notify them that you want the domains deleted.

Just let them expire or you can contact them and let them know you want to hand them over. Then setup an account under your reseller account for them with a the maximum pricing.

I would attempt to contact the car companies. Start with the admin/contacts listed on their corporate domain name records. Let them know that you registered these domains in error and would like to correct this mistake by returning them to the company. Wait to see how they respond and react accordingly. Never mention money, and don't expect it. They may offer to reimburse your documented registration fees, but don't expect it and don't ask for it.

Check the newspapers for human scum... child molestors, animal abusers, or whatever, and put the domains in their name. Keep 'em busy for a while so they stay out of trouble

I don't think you want to be on their "radar".

Most likely, they would say thank you if you notified them.
However, you never know if they might want to hassle you over it.

If you want to transfer them to the car companies without them knowing it.
You could move them into a separate acct. And, copy their data from their
primary whois. Also, point the domains to the car companies site.

And, then they can scratch their heads wondering how they got them. When,
they get notifications of renewal.

They are very unlikely to simply take you straight to court, what i would do is park them and keep them until they contact you then simply hand them over for a small fee to cover admin, say £10 per domain???? It costs them to go to court or to get a nominet hearing (Nominet fee for a case is £750 + vat)

that actually seems pretty clever.. also that way you would be likely to get commission money from their renewals.. not sure if theres any downside to the idea though. as it being illegal to register names in other people's names?

I would also simply contact the TM owner and tell them that you are ready to hand the domain over to them. Courtesy, Kindness and such goes along way and most of the time comes back somewhere you least expect...
