The FACT is my post was exactly at 10:59 AM EST which is equal to 11:59 AM EDT. All other things are subjective comments.

If anyone use these terms in a wrong way, it is his or her problem.

By EST he means Eastern.

I f you know what the seller means by EST, why don't you interpret me his second post.

Sumo,

Go tell sedo that...see what they tell you. This is a very commonly used term.

EST is an abbreviation for eastern. End of story. It is also abbreviation for Eastern Standard Time but that does not mean the prior abbreviation doesn't hold value.

He's not my friend. This is just common sense.

Which second post? The one that states ends in 12 hours? at 12:32 am? I don't know what he was thinking when he posted that, so i cannot comment.

I do know two things.

1. EST is an abbreviation for eastern time
2. ET is also an abbreviation for eastern time

If this is confusing to you, then you should ask the OP to clarify before bidding.
In 100% of the cases they mean Eastern time and not Eastern Standard Time.

Definitions of est on the Web:
  • Eastern Time: standard time in the 5th time zone west of Greenwich, reckoned at the 75th meridian; used in the eastern United States
    wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

No sumo.

Your post was made at 11:59 AM EDT

If your "strategy" is to claim the domains by means of mixing the daylight saving time boundary, you're set to fail.

The OP said "11:00 am EST" and by that he obviously meant 11:00 am local eastern time since we're in daylight saving time.

Your post was made 59 minutes too late.

Come on, you know what the seller means better than me. I am sure you have an idea.

Okay sumo, in that case dn-101 is high bidder.

Not you.

Either way you weren't the high bidder. Are you happy now?

We totally agree on this. And EST = EDT -1, there is no exception .

Acro, would you please interpret the second post of the seller?

I'm not here to "interpret" posts :) More like offer common sense.

But there you go: if you want to take it for what it's worth, the seller's post made at 12:34 AM ending the auction in "12 hours" makes your post the second from last and dn-101 with a post at 12:02 AM wins.

His second post just gives an idea about what he really means by EST. Also the seller sent me a pm and confirmed that I won the auction after it ended.

So, you can't say that he meant EDT, not EST.

It is good to support your fellow friends but sometimes, it is not fair.

As I said, I am not here to force anything down your throat. If that's what he said, then the issue is between him and the disputing party. My common sense tells me what I already posted. Nobody posts different time schedules (not timezones) when the clocks haven't changed yet, seeking to complicate their sale by playing tricks with people's clocks. If he had said "GMT" there would be no question about him wanting to provide an arbitrary timezone. But he's in central timezone and he wanted to state the auction ends at 11 am eastern. That's common sense to me.

Good luck.

Guys,

Please stop arguing about all of this - it's just a few domains, I'm sure we'll settle. The ending time was 11 EST, and when I posted before the auction, I gave a rough estimate, which was a mistake on my part. I thought the best idea was to reauction the package, but some seem to have a problem with that, so I decided to go along with whatever Biggedon, the admin, decides. I do not wish harm for anybody, but please don't argue, it's only a few domains and not worth fighting over.

It is not about you Rich or a few domains.

For me, it is about dishonest people and mind readers.

Biggedon declared that Sumo should be honored as the winner. Any rebuttals please via pm or directly to him. Otherwise, I will proceed with the transaction within 24 hours.

As it's not a must for me, I don't have any problem to go with the decision of Biggedon even if the forum timestamp was on my favour.

Good Luck Sumo with your new domains.
