I want to start a search engine...anyone here have any recommendations for a good script? looking for something like this:

A search engine? Or a directory? A directory can be real easy and work like a search engine, only searching through your own collection. Check one of my sites: http://www.clickstuff.com/

But a proper search engine is not easy. You will need your own datacenter to store masses of data and data-mining servers to spiders to index sites. I don't think you can just install a turnkey script.
