Search Engines and Development Question

I have a couple of questions please.
Does the actual domain name make a huge amount of difference on search engines? casino.com vs. casino.us


I have heard that if your going after search engine traffic it is better to have a domain like blackjack-casino.com instead of blackjackcasino.com. Is this true?

It really does not make a lick of difference. For google it is good to have part or all of the query in your url but if you do not have the content or the link popularity then it really makes no difference.
