I don't know how many of you on here have checked this out but SecondLife is just an amazing reality website. They were just funded and put on the NY Stock Exchange and the tecnology in this life-reality world is as advanced as everthing.

Check it out. Anyway, with this popular explosion of secondlife stuff or sl (secondlife) or rl (reallife), second has become a popular name and is gaining fast. The SecondLife is growing by leaps and bounds and I think it will continue to gain, possibly unmanageable traffic. I think it's HUGE, period!

You couple that with Vote and voting and recounts and all that crap, you see vote and voting is in the news constantly. This secondvote.com site could have many uses. Vote is a popular subject.

I've not gotten real good names so far from what you all have said so I hope this one is a good one.

Please appraise!

Bump.... seems that in three days this would have gotten more than 3 views. No answers. I'm waiting responses..........

Another bump.... do a seacrch for second vote. Lots of stuff. I thought it was good enough to get the sister, 2ndvote.com also.

Ok, I've got a bunch of domain names and this crap is addicting.

I just listed most with DomainHop, moved from Sedo... Anyway, I haven't sold a one but I've got about 40 now. What's the best way to sell these things? Anything would help, but most of all, what do you think of SecondVote.com and 2ndVote.com I figure I may as well have one compliment the other. I thought is was worth the risk? You opinons please?

Quick question, how am I supposed to learn how to purchase good domains when posts like this are ignored? Is the name that stupid or did I piss someone off? Just checking.

Can wait to hear opinons on the names and yes they are for sale... everything is. :)

No help... I'm begining to wonder why I paid for a membership on this board? At least at Name Pros.com people look at and answer posts. It didn't cost me $50.00 to be allowed to post with the higher-ups or at least those who think they are.

Anyway, your comments thus far have been appreciated but I think for now I'll pack up and frequent a more active and more managed domain name site. Sedo Sucks and it looks like this forum is in bed with Sedo and we all know birds of a feather flock together... maybe now I'll get some answers... maybe just revoke my membership and refund my money and I'll go somewhere else. At this point, I don't see the justification for paying for a membership here. Someone's making a lot of membership money though!

Lets see if this gets answered........

it's the word second... and the word vote.

As far as second life, it far surpasses simcity in graphics and technology. It is that big of a deal otherwise they wouldn't have recently gone public and been funded a large amount of money. On top of it, the traffic the site gets with new registrations.

SecondVote in this time of voter fraud and politics, I think would make a good political activist party. Maybe some sort of a voting station and forum. It's seems catchy, but what do I know, I'm just addicted to being creative and buying names... LOL.

Thanks for your reply jedi. I appreciate your opinion. Oh, have you actually gone into second life and looked around? If you haven't, it's hard to understand or judge something. I don't think second life is a big deal... I think it's going to be HUGE from what I currently know about it. It doesn't move everyone but the technology advancement and creativity are unsurpassed.

Thanks again!

SECOND LIFE BOOSTED WITH $8 MILLION IN NEW FINANCING

Linden Lab and Benchmark Capital aim for the Metaverse

San Francisco, CA - October 28, 2004 – Linden Lab®, creator of the acclaimed 3D digital world, Second Life®, announced today it has closed a financing round of $8,000,000 led by Benchmark Capital and with participation from Omidyar Network, a new organization led by eBay founder, Pierre Omidyar. Existing investors including software pioneer Mitch Kapor also participated in the round.

"Second Life has a vibrant community where content creators and consumers reinforce one another, ”says Pierre Omidyar. "Better experiences attract more users, which further attracts entrepreneurial developers to enrich the experience. Opportunities abound and value is determined by the community.”

"We have been blown away by the momentum inside of Second Life," said Benchmark Capital partner J. William Gurley. "While most multi-player gaming companies are inherently limited by the size of their development team, Second Life is limited only by the imagination of its users. This is clearly the most leveraged digital entertainment environment we have ever encountered." Gurley, who recently spoke about multiplayer online gaming at the Web 2.0 conference, will be joining Linden Lab’s board of directors.

"Within Second Life, thousands of people are creating what is in every sense of the word a new world. The demand for resources, servers, tools and features created by this rapid growth and heavy usage can be met with this new investment.”, said Philip Rosedale, CEO of Linden Lab. "I look forward to walking the digital streets of a place that has until now existed only in science fiction and dreams.”

Mr. Gurley joins Mitch Kapor, founder of Lotus Development and founder of Kapor Enterprises and Jed Smith, managing partner of Catamount Ventures on the Linden Lab Board of Directors.

Designers, entrepreneurs and developers will discover an amazing environment with real business opportunities – each month Second Life users currently buy and sell goods and services valued at over US$1 Million.

Second Life costs $9.95 to sign up and requires only a small download, allowing users to be immersed in an amazing 3D world within minutes. The software can be downloaded at www.secondlife.com.

Ditto. I've never heard of second life, and even if it was huge, I don't see how second vote would be worth anything. When you have to post paragraphs to explain your domain name, it usually means it's worthless. A domain name can be judged by the name alone.

Hi schnitzeldorf,
I see where you coming from and I share with you that SecondVote.com hs potential but only for someone who is willing to make something out of it and invest time and money to get it to take off.

Although there could be value in SecondVote.com I think that it has a market only for an end user.

Most of the members here are resellers and I can't see anyone would give you the price you want hear. most are usually $0 or some figures which are in my opinion are far from the realistic price but to be fair some are very reasonable and I can tell you they know their market.

your name can only be sold by a targeting sale directly to the enduser who might be interested and if you need help please PM me and I will tell you how to do that.

Good luck

if you haven't heard of second life that's because it's new. Go and check it out. It's a technilogical wonder. It's absolutely the most creatively advanced .... thing that I've ever seen. Don't just go to the site, go into the world and look around.

It's going to be huge. HUGE... I'm not sure how else I can describe it. Big Big.... Bigger than Microsoft in my opinion... until you've actually seen it, it's like talking out of your armpit...lol.

Now, it's an entire world. If any of you are going to go into it, I'd be happy to set a time to give you a tour and help you to understand it. I could meet you at the front gate but I'll need a little notice first.

Take a look at it. Before you do, please understand that I have no personal interest and am not affiliated with the site or the business. I'm telling you this technology is going to rock the world and it's already starting.

Thanks for your replies...

better?

dude, you beg people for appraisals and then spew off if it's not what you hoped for. really there is NO relationship between secondlife and secondvote so all this talk about the site itself is useless ... it's like saying secondmonster.com is a great domain because templatemonster.com is so popular

Jedi... I haven't begged for anything but a valid reason for being a paying member of this forum.

Someone saying that a domain is judged simply by the name is a very closed-minded comment. If a domain is judged solely by the name, then why are we all here? I also edited my post quickly... I see you made sure to repost it though.

Your comment has nothing to do with the comment you have in quotes. The quote you posted Jedi has to do with judging a site... which hip will you shoot from next?

Also, I edited that comment I made because I felt it was wrong... thank you for making sure it got posted...

I see you edited it out, but next time you will be banned, lighten up and enjoy the forum, and stop disrepsecting management.

you say that you are relatively new to domains, and all i was doing was trying to help you out with an appraisal... registering on the type of speculation you use may or may not work out for you in the end, but it's my opinion that the track you're following won't lead to many sales.

my point being, when i first started registering domains i was all over the place and it cost me thousands, and it was the feedback from boards like this that helped me learn

good luck

Well reading this was atleast entertaining anyway. There are a million domains out there waiting to be registed like secondvote.com, i.e. lifevote.com, lifesecond.com, votesecondlife.com, etc... im just speculating because i didnt actually check to see if these were available or not. Reg Fee imo.

good luck

If you feel it is going to be so huge, then why not stop speculating on the next million dollar name and invest that money into the stock?
