Weird. Pretty sure it's a mistake, just contact your account manager and it should be fixed.

Since when are city names a TM? Then we would go after so many companies!
I send an email to the legal department.

someone is trying to reverse hijack my domain name and I think it's the Brazilian Government.,

They don't stand a chance.

They don't stand a chance.

I dont have the money to fight for it.... im selling it for $3k - it would be cheaper for them to buy it!

Should i increase the price tag?

If it had anything to do with the olympics or anything similar to the games (including the word games, the year, etc) it will get bumped.

A german company has rights to the word(s) or variation(s) to olympics, olympia, olympiad, etc. Sedo enforces that one particular TM as if it applies to every where and every thing on the planet.

There is no reverse hijacking to it. Those are Sedo's rules so park it elsewhere.

On another note, ever since the winter olympics in Salt Lake City, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has been on a tear after olympic names to include city and date.

thanks DOC, i got the year in it.

Ah, I missed the number. Thought you had the generic. Yeah, the number can be an issue even though not a direct TM.

travel companies use the year on their domain name for 2006 and 2010...

Thanks for the help guys.

Sedo haven't necessarily actually recieved a complaint from any one .. Sedo legal, scan their data base/sales listings/parked names etc, to avoid possible legal ramifications coming back onto Sedo .. it's more than likely that you will not recieve a reply from Sedo legal with an explaination of why your name has been deleted from the Sedo data base or who complained as probably no one did ... it a preventive action by Sedo to protect Sedo ..

It is simply a matter of place/date and its relation to the olympics.

The IOC and place own the rights to the name as it pertains to the place and date. Period.

There is really no discussion or debate on this matter.

This comes out of many lawsuits filed and won by both the IOC and Salt Lake City for those olympics and olympics going forward.

You have domainers to thank for those rulings.
