I have the same experience on Sedo. They have some very high click through prices, but their click through ratios suffer because of the narrow base of advertisers. I expect this to improve soon as Sedo is working on widening their base of advertisers.
I have the same experience, but to a lesser extent, with individual domains on all of the ppc services. However, Sedo has the greatest day to day variability, at least with my domains. Domain Sponsor has the highest click thru ratios so the variability tends to be less.
When you get a $12 day on a single name, just consider yourself lucky. Unless it is a really good domain, you just wont get that kind of result every day.
The larger the number of domains, the more things tend to even out. This is just the Law of Large Numbers (from Probability Theory).
