Greetings, I'm seeking advise on registering one-word dictionary .com domains. I own quite a few domains, with the vast majority being those that I have developed or wish to develop. Recently, I've heard a lot of discussion from Internet chatter and from associates that any and all one-word .com domains should be registered immediately without hesitation, but I'm not so sure I agree, thus this post. The following is a sampling of the one-word .com domains that I've registered with the intent to develop:
blithered.com (blog)
blitherings.com (blog)
blabberings.com (blog)
casabas.com (possible adult)
spinosaurus.com and spinosaur.com which were featured in Jurrasic Park III(dinosaur products)
timelessly.com (memorablia)
messengered.com and messengering.com (IMs)
imprintings.com (printing)

Anywho, I have a list of around 25 one-word .com domains that are currently available, and have been verified to be listed in the MW dictionary. 20+ are words that most people would be familiar with and all have been registered before and dropped. I don't have an immediate need for them, but don't want to lose out on a "deal". The domains I mention above are all parked right now awaiting their turn to be developed, but I must admit that I'm a little disappointed in the performance thus far, except for spinosaurus.com, spinosaur.com and casabas.com which get a lot.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance -

I would not reg most dictionary words that end in

-ed
-ly
-ing

there are lots of these "dictionary words" that can be reg'ed, but just don't see the value in suffixed domains.

spinosaurus.com & spinosaur.com are very targeted keywords hence the better performance.

Good luck with your list ;)

JMHO
