IMO, "s" is not easy to pronounce, if you talk to someone over the phone, it is a little hard to say "s".

I know, there is BuyDomainS.com, but Microsoft has hotmail.com, not hotmails.com.

Anyway, it is better to collect the both, but... it is impossible.
