Yesterday I sold a domain through Sedo. I got Sedo's mail stating : "Both parties have now confirmed their contact details ...".

Today I received a transfer request to Schlund (registrar) for the domain. I was about to confirm the transfer, when I realised that Sedo had yet to confirm receipt of funds.

:bandit: Mistake or fraud - Seller beware ...

the buyer may have done it on his own not knowing he needed the go ahead from sedo, just a possibility.

Yes it can happen and is not necessarily fraud. You should not approve the transfer request unless you receive a notification from Sedo regarding that.

wait for sedo before taking any action.

Yes, wait for the notification from sedo that the funds are secure with them.

send them a mail otherwise anton...
(it can always take a while)
