Hi everyone,

Well first of all this is just for the information.
(I am not actually thinking about selling a part of my portfolio)

Let's say you make $2500 a month by ppc parking programs. (sometimes more)
(The domains who make the most money are already regged for multiple
years and 99% of the domains are all registered at Fabulous )

The income comes from SedoPro, Namedrive and Fabulous.

If you would sell this money making portfolio, how much do you think
people will offer for it? (and are there buyers here at DNforum.com for those
high budget numbers?)

kind regards,

Faisj

It's hard to state a price just based on this info. Other things I would take into consideration would be the source of traffic, quality of the names, etc

- Source of traffic is only Type-ins (90% Casino typo's)
- 95% .com's
- NO Hyphens
- NO IDN's
- No Trademark Domains

Also, the number of names you do have and what they make a day on average, as in are there any that make $0 one day then $15 the next?

Its hard to say as some domains make a lot of money ( 100+ one day )
and 0 another day.
Lets say there are 1000 domains.
(many of them dont have to be renewed as they did not make any money)

For. ex. income yesterday was: Approx $100,-
Last week there were 4 days with incomes above $140,-

I think you would have to break the portfolio down to just the names that make more than the reg fee and sell those as the package, forget about even mentioning the others, because you could have 300 of them showing revenue but actually making less than the reg fee, including those in the total revenue would actually hurt a sale. Then you can calculate the revenue on those only and multiply it anywhere from 15 to 20 x monthly revenue as the asking price and go from there, and yes there are many here on the forum who would be interested I think.

casino typos are most likely breaching trademark.

based on what you said I would broker the portfolio out up to 2 years annual revenue subject to a full audit of the domains.

Then I would say the income is generated by approx 250 domain names.
(most them are already regged for multiple years)

All domain names (casino typo's) have been checked by us and Fabulous
for trademark aspects.

a typo is a method of "passing off" and therefore can constitute a dilution of trademark, even if its not a registered trademark.

If the domain were to cause confusion of a similar domain name or mark then anyone with prior use of the correct spelling could argue that you are attempting to mislead users into thinking that the domain you own is another domain.

Very risky scenario.

Thank you for the information.
A trademark problem can only be there when there is a trademark on
the name.

But, this is not what the thread is about.
(I guess there are enough topics where you can give your opinion
about typo domain names)

a name or mark in which a person or company use in commerce whether registered or not is a trademark of that person or company.

Trademark issues are very relevant to this thread as you have mentioned that your domains are all typos, and the fact that they are all typos of possible trademarks very much is relative to the pricing of a portfolio.

Perhaps its not what you wish to here, but what I say is true and I am sure fabulous would agree as would the owners of the domains you are typo-ing

So what do you wanna say: all the domains I have are useless?!?...
okey, thank you for your opinion.

( I don't want to go in this discussion )

I said based on the information I would broker it out at 2 years revenue.

Dont try to make yourself out to be a victim here, I only highlighted the reason as to why only up to 2 years revenue.

most generic porfolios sell for up to 8 years revenue.

As you said this is a hypothetical situation, so stop crying and if you dont want to hear possible negative reactions dont ask.

I am ending the the talk with you...
I don't have the time and don't want to place effort in people who speak this way...

Namestrands is correct.

Why do people ask for appraisals and then agrue about it when they don't like the answer. If these are really casino typo names they are pretty darn risky...I agree with 18-24 months of revenue as a reasonable pricepoint.

Regards.

Names should be valued based on other issues too, not only ppc income but need more details, stats and the names themselves to judge it.

Why are all your posts in blue?

Its not about the answer.
Everyone is free to give his or hers opinion.
But, I see that some people dont see the thin line between giving
a opinion and trying to spoil a thread.

Is it disturbing you?

Is it disturbing you?

1) I think your attitude is what is spoiling this thread, we are being honest and not overly harsh, just telling it like it is.

2) Yes, the blue is at least slightly disturbing...

1) Could you please point out where I am spoiling the thread?
Am I not allowed to say something back?

I was not the one who posts:

...victim here...

...so stop crying...

I am simply ending the talks with that person.
Because in my opinion the reply's are harsh.

2) stopped the blue colour.
(tho, i don't understand how a colour could be disturbing)

Anyone would sell sell names making $2,500 per month for two years revenue is an idiot. In fact, you could keep the names for 24 months by just waking up....and keep the money, too. The bottom line is that many of these low-ball buyers and appraisers have the ulterior motive to keep these multiples low. Many are laughing all the way to the bank when they get great deals like this.

Don't be a sucker. Keep you names until people offer a price that isn't a joke. Sometimes it's a buyer's market and sometimes its a seller's market. To sell at two years revenue is to admit to one of two things: 1) The PPC income is fraudulent, or 2) You have no concept of the time value of money.

I wouldn't sell for two years revenue under any circumstances. I would rather delete the names and be broke....out of principle. It is not your job to make someone else a millionaire.

Great portfolios get 8-10 years revenue.....the buyers are laughing as well, because those names have more value than just the measly PPC.
