send e-mail to member ?

is it possible to send e-mail to a member, if so, how ?
there is a Send Pm button, but i don't want to wait till person logs in, would prefer to send e-mail. are there extra costs associated with it ?

Users can choose whether they want to display their email on the forum - if it isn't visible now you won't be able to email them.

That said, most users have their preferences set to forward them any PM's to their email inbox - so they will know almost straight away what the message is.
