Wow! All those regged today? Nice group but at $1k renewal fee per year you better get something going.

I'd say without development they aren't worth the $1k new reg fee you paid for each.

Sorry, had to say it.

seo.ws = regged for 3 years.
Renewal fee = $500 = $1k for 2 years!

BUT the cool thing is i paid $100 per domain at special price!

So i can register it for 10 years! the person who buys it wont have to worry!

Lol thats the only reasone i registered them. Since the reg fees appear to be pretty high i am going to reg all of the for 10 years.

+ i just noticed they have special offer, 10 years = $800!

Agree if that's the fee.

Sorry if my mistake. I just checked out the registry and thought it said it was $1k per year on renewals. Seems to me that I've heard the $500 figure somewhere as well. If I read your notes right, SEO.ws (nice name) cost you a total of $1100 for the 3 years?

If you're saying it's $500 per year, and you can register it for 10 years that would be $100 + $4500 right? Why wouldn't that be a worry for the person who buys it?

Reason why I question this is that a few months back, another member regged those same names and quite a few more. When the registry found out about the errors on pricing, they pulled all the names back and refunded the buyer. Just make sure your registrar has a clue and is working fine.

That's still a high price for some of those with .ws not really fully accepted.

Seo.ws is registered for 3 years. COST ME $100 . its $100 per year throgh special offer from a registrar.

I would never pay $1000 for it for 2 -3 years!

they have a option to reg a 3 letter .ws for $800 for 10 years too. Which i think its worth for seo.ws

Do you think IF it was a mistake, I should stick with the $500 p.a for seo.ws ? I think it is worth about $5000 + !
ws = web site = seo website!

Well, if the $100 initial reg holds, and if they hit you for the $500 for the renewals, you could do it for 1 year to find out what the market thinks. Some other Key Tier 1 .ws names are selling for $100 to $200, so even though it's a nice name you have there, the market is still a little down on the extension. Could change. Maybe see if your registrar will put the renewal rate option in writng. Then if the registry slaps them either they can honor your deal or put up a battle figuring you won't spend the money to sue.

The previous guy that regged those after a screw up by GoDaddy could have paid the $1k initial reg price, but I guess he didn't think they were worth the price.

It's been a while, I was just curious as to the outcome on these names. Did your special deal hold, or was it a mistake?

Almost everyone knows that .ws doesn't mean website but rather it is the TLD for Western Samoa. So is that extension really that brandable?

Just curious.

Nobody but us domainers know what .ws means. Also, if the people in charge of the ccTLD say it means website, then that's what it means.

I was curious to hear from DNtalk about what happened to the special deal he had worked out with the registrar? It sounded like he had arranged something that if had held out, I'd be interested in duplicating myself.

DNtalk -- what happened?

when I visit seo.ws I go to website.ws - same place all their other unregistered .ws domains catchall to.
Was it a glich, or did you really get the names?
I paid four figures for the premium three letter .ws I own - so I'm expecially interested in the outcome of this. (I'd like to buy some more..!)
