If you do not have an enom account you can register one at http://inethosts.com without making the normal deposit for enom.com. Renewal fee at inethosts.com is $10 per year, which is the minimum that enom allows at this time. You can renew the domain and then later transfer it to your registrar.

You can also try to transfer the domain without renewal but I don't know if you have the time.

Or I can renew the domain for you for $9.50 and you can transfer it away without setting up an enom account.
