The present sentiment of society has drawn a dark red line between sex and kids on the internet. Sorry to say that no "appropriate" end user would touch this name with a ten foot pole. Even "inappropriate" users would be repelled by the new.net tld as it significantly restricts the names reach.

Unfortunately, it's a poor investment.

Thanks for the honest opinion.

Just thought I would throw 10$ at it and see what came of it.

Does anyone else want to put anything in?

Thanks.

Kermit is right. Stay away from that domain. A clear no in my opinion.

it's kind of ironic really, so many of you thought of the 'dirty' interpretation instead of the obvious one :-)
sex education for kids???
very light on the subject, just making sure that they don't jump into something and regret it.
If used properly, it could be quite a respected resource.
Other than that, stay away from it.

I doubt that such a domain could ever get a reputation for anything "respected" - IMO this is a complete "no-no".

There's nothing ironic about the majority thinking of the "dirty" interpretation - linking "sex" with "kids" is crossing an unacceptable barrier. If you really wanted to use such a site for genuine sex education (and I question why you would if not a bona fide medical/social/government agency) then a name nearer to "sexeducationfor.kids" would surely be the choice.

I agree Mr. Webname.
But I would prefer someone respectable regging that domain and 'locking' it or using it for something respectable, or better yet not using it at all, than some pervert getting such a domain and mis using it.
Perhaps I can't think why anyone would even use such a domain name for sexual exploitation, and that's probably because I don't own a single adult related domain and don't know about these domains.

Thanks for all the replies, its helped.

And yes, it could be used as a sex education/informational site about sex and maybe even teen support groups.

Thanks again.

I know this might sound weird (what doesn't these days?), but how about using that as a draw to educate kids about the dangers of computer sex on the internet? Or warning about the fact that many law enforcement agencies have found pedophiles using the internet to lure their prey to them?

I can also think of other ways to get into trouble with this name besides the obvious ones, but they involve law enforcement and entrapment issues, and . . . ? And sooner or later the bad guys would figure it out anyway(?)

If you decide you don't want it, maybe instead of letting it go you might donate it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Out of all the thousands of generic new.net names that are still available across every imaginable industry, what made you decide to buy this?
