shall I take a .com or a .ws?

Hey all!

I am a Comp Eng major and I am developing this small tool which I will be selling for a small fee. I need a domain name for my "company". Ok so I am between two available choices: either a 8 letter .com or a 4 letter .ws .. which one do you think I should go for??

Take the .com.

Take both the .info and .biz

Take any open global domain (com,net,org,info,biz) if you want to sell globally, or a .us if you want to be associtiated with the US market. I'd avoid repurposed Country code domains. For a busines .com is preferrable even if longer, but .biz a second choice.

Today you will often notice the lack of the .com on the home page. Unlike what most here would like to believe for obvious inventory reasons, .com is no longer sexy or desirable as an imaging tool. Companies see .com as a possible liability and stigma and only do it for the traffic.

Yup. .com is a catch-all solution for the riff-raff. .biz is a restricted tld for serious businesses.

.com's imagery sucks big time to corporate America (Worldcom hahahahhaaaa). .biz is a new kid on the block with still a virginal image.

Traffic is one thing. Image is another you need to consider seriously.
