well, the enduser has a group of companies... these companies makes sales of over $100,000,000 (one hundred million) (researched) I dont know the exact revenue..

but he contacted me say how much I want for the domain.. I replied saying how much are you willing to offer.. anyways please let me know what you think its worth could be. Its been over a week I havent gotten a reply.

Not worth more than mid $xx. And I am sure that the end user will be paying more than that. So take the money if he is paying low $xxx or higher and run away.

Basic value to other domainers is about $50. See other advice threads on dealing with such negotiations, and targeting end market value. Be especially careful not to infringe on existing marks.

A comment on the previous post: The .in domain is not subject to UDRP, but INDRP. Details are available at the registry.

I would've asked for $10,000 USD. The domain is close to worthless (reseller wise) anyways and it's better to have a shot at $10,000, than selling it for a couple hundred bucks IMO. ;)

It may be next to worthless right now, but that might be far from the case in a few years. According to this, only 3.7 % of India's population are internet users, and only 0.2 % have broadband, yet due to their massive population, they rank 5th overall for internet users. This suggests a huge growth potential for the internet in India. Not gonna happen overnight, but 5 years from now things may look a whole lot different.

I might be inclined to hold on to my LLL .INs for a while. :)

I totally agree, asking for 10k doesnt hurt, if he turns it down its way more than he would have paid anyway, if he thinks its not totally crazy maybe he will come back with a decent offer.

It can be hard to value a domain like this which is an acronym. Depending on the end user it could be worth whatever they are willing to spend on it.

yea ask for about 10K$ if you think that they are the end user for this domain
good luck

I have SHG.com they contacted me also ... ( ashish was his name ... )

Heard nothing back ..also a week ago .

It is a large company I agree

shg.dk is also one of the bigger e-companies dealing with computer hardware in denmark... Might not apply much to the .in version, but Gerry might want to know ;)

I agree in a negotiation I would aim for $10,000 if the person is making websites that truly have revenue in the X,XXX,XXX range. Good luck.

really, bro they propably looking into buying ... shg.com aswell as shg.in .. please let me know if they contact u back, and also pm me the price range u asked for so we both decent number, now obviously u gonna ask for a lot more lll.com .. but let me know if u can so I can calculate and send them the price range I am willing to sell it, also let me know if u want stats on the company.. I researched and found.

Now I know that both me and you are unsure on how serious they are.. but good luck

I have sold several LLL.IN to relatively large companies making a virtual move into India.
I have always asked for about 2500-3500 and settled with 1000-1500.
This is really a nice return and pays for the renewals of many LLL.IN and NNN.IN while they appreciate.
Good Luck.

thanks a lot DomainLobe, plus if possible maybe report some high sales.. to DN Jornal.. so ppl dun think that lll.in are useless

yeah $10k sounds reasonable if i's a large company.. make it "just" $9997

I agree, if you have to give the first bargaining figure, go higher than what you think it's worth.

In negotiation, the one who has to state a figure first is usually at the disadvantage, so go high. Also realize this type of situation may not happen often, which is another reason to bargain hard.

Good luck!

Never give a price first, you never know how much money they are willing to put on a plate.
Always ask to make a substantial offer. Once they make their move you will know the leverage you can play with.
They might offer you 10K and you can counter with 30K.
they might offer you 500 and you don't even counter but you write back: thank you for your offer but it is not in the price range I expected. If you are still interested in the domain please send me your best offer.
I would never sell it for less than 5 10K if an end user like them wrote me.
