I dabble in .us domains and have made a few $x,xxx sales...
Single word business oriented domains in .us extension have some value, about 1/1000-1/100 of the equivalent dotcom.
Here's some recent .us sales to illustrate:
invention.us $4350
deals.us $3450
motel.us $2850
savings.us $1533
However, when you get outside that category, it's a crap shoot.
If you had shopping.us, we might be talking mid $x,xxx+
There are TONS of single word dictionary domains and 3 letter .us domains available for registration. SO....
When you have a 2 word, with a dash in the middle, it doesn't look very good.

Actually, whether it's what I wanted to hear or not, I appreciate the kind response. I only spent $3.99 on it, so it's fine. I just picked up swineflu.us for $3.99.
