Funny story...

YPG contacted me regarding a domain I recently got in the drops. Received their offer today.... $40 ....LOL!

Here's my offer of the day!!

Hello Gordon, just wondering if you would be willing to transfer the silkplants.ca domain?
Thanks,
J

Why yes I'd love to turn over this profitable domain to you for nothing:approve:

There must be a moron school out there somewhere that teaches them stuff like this.................;)

I'm also pleased to have finally got control of MovieRentals.ca.

I wonder if anyone else has had a problem with Sibername's credit card system. Other than the charging 2x of course (that's old).

They took a credit card payment that according to their system came back declined. However VISA had approved it. Needless to say getting that straightened out was a labour of love. And I won't claim any diligence on the part of Sibername to get it cleared up.

The .ca drops are getting thinner and thinner each week with less quality.

-=DCG=-

I Guessed last year at this time there'd be nothing in TBR worth the time involved picking and choosing. But there are more than I figured to be honest.

My prediction of this is simply based on the names being picked up in tbr by domainers. We dont drop names of value. Therefore as time goes by there will be less and less great names to be had.

There will be more good names, but too many of us fighting for them makes it less attractive of an investment. I'm very happy picking up loads of .ca at 16-100$ for names I feel are worth 10times but really, you wont see me bidding 10k on too many .ca. Far too many .com to be had still for reasonable amounts and with loads of potential.

The last few months I only invest 20 minutes into the tbr list each week and place bids in just a couple of places and rarely check at 0 hour to see if im outbid. No, I dont do pool. Bidding there defeats the purpose of getting a good deal. I lose out on many names not using pool but there are far too many domains to be gotten to get all personal with a few.

Kevin.

They double dipped me the first time i used them for a couple hundred dollars. When I noticed i went to their site, knowing their in Ottawa and looked up their address. Realizing when I arrived their (prestigious) Slater office is just a post office box.

Sibername domain registrations Is not to be trusted.

I hope no one beats me to it!!!!!

Does Sibername still show the list of TBR domains with current bids? Looking for the link on the site and can't find it, a few weeks ago you could see a list of only the names that had bids. Was a nice feature to see which names were good, or getting bids.

that just shows my names with bids, I want to see all the names that have bids on them.

Strange, when I am logged in that links shows me all the domains with bids:

The may 9th link should do it unless all the bids there are yours

You might try logging out and come back. I've noticed glitches before where you get stuck on one page because of the cookies they set. Logging out will end it.

Well, I am high bidder on two names on both Sibername and namepros... I hope pool doesn't get them... :uhoh:

crap, that must have been some last second bid on one of them, I just got an email from Sibername saying I was outbid... :veryangry:

Wow, thanks Gordon for this great help. BTW, where did you get this.. I tried many times and had no success.

Just curious...

I'm also pleased to have finally got control of MovieRentals.ca.

Congrats on that one. Knowing how much the .com fetched must put a smile on your face, just imagine if it had gone to pool...

Cheers.

Share the info  If the .com sold I missed it.

I'd far rather be the high bidder at Sibername than go into a pool auction. I think that one would have gone into the xxxx category.

I think that one would have gone into the xxxx category.

People go crazy there.. or Pool makes people crazy.. I don't know which is true.

But, sure, it would have been xxxx at least, and that if Pool_1481 was sleeping at that time!!!

Right now I would like to think that a domain like that would be worth about 1/10th of the .com...

So I would say that it is worth about $10,000 - to the proper end user of course ...

Just my $0.02

Ahem......

Except for the fact that they should have sold the com for 1 mill so the price rrreeaaalllly should come out at 100k

But I've always used a 10%/com as part of the calculation too.
