significance of "360" in dn's

I was in to domains in the late 1990's and kept a few good ones...I have recently gotten back into the biz and see that "360" domain names seem to have cought on. Can someone please explain to me the significance of the 360 in the name.

Seen that too. First observed it on CNN with Anderson Cooper 360. 360 degrees and complete? That's why I bought and developed biznews360.com. Anyone else who can wisely shed light on this???

Don't know for 247 or 365, but there's a real market for 360 domains. Just have a look to two recent sedo sales (4k and 1.8k euro respectively) and current auctions at tdnam (highest one at 700 usd, lowest one at 60 usd, all featured in the most active auctions).

I have a few 360 and 247 domains it's just a shame i was not old enough to get the .com's or these domains could have made me a pretty pennie. I just hope the .eu goes well and i can make some money on these. well i can still hope

In addition to 360 and 247, some other popular number add-ons are...

101 for education - like math101, poker101, etc
411 for information - like careers411, travel411, etc.
911 for emergency/help - like safety911, health911, etc.
123 for "easy as" - like music123, repairs123, etc

The biggest significance of the 360 in a domain is this: it shows that there is a virtual tour or some rotational object photography on the site. It is a strong keyword for virtual tours/virtual reality displays. Growing bigger even in the last few years. I think it will soon be a standard way of displaying products and places on the internet.

Here are some real uses on the Internet right now: it is used for displaying cars inside and out, using the mouse to see it from every angle, inside and out. Check out the websites of Audi, Mazda, Suzuki, Honda, Lexus, even Harley Davidson.

Another wide use of the "360" is for real estate. You can go into a house and see a panorama of a room, go from room to room, zoom in and zoom out. Saves the realtor a lot of time because they can show their houses to anyone in the world on the web.

A few sites have panoramas (some even spherical where you can look up and down) of scenic and tourist spots around the world. Macchu Picchu, Egyptian pyramids, just about anywhere you can think of. Check it out on a site called VRMag.org. One of the best "panographers" is Greg Downing. Go to his site. This is pretty cool stuff. About the most interactive, immersive way to show anything on the internet.

I know a lot about this stuff, so take my word for it. 360 is big.
