I received a $499 offer on Sedo for this domain and have 7 days to accept it. I'm debating if I should counter-offer for a higher price or just accept the offer as is. It seems most people would come in with an original offer that is lower than they would be willing to pay for it. Then again, if I counter, they could just walk away.

Any suggestions or thoughts on my best course of action?

lots of domains of this quality sell in the $2000 - $5000 range each week in the DNJournal sales report. I would counter unless you really need the $499 or really want to get rid of the domain. If you've been holding the name since '98, you could probably wait longer. It is a nice short brandable name, easy to spell and say, and applicable to internet activities (with the keyword 'site')

Based on the responses I received here, I made a counter offer in the low $x,xxx's a couple days ago. I haven't received a response yet, but I believe they have 7 days to consider the option.
