Today I wrote something on

www.facebook.com
and
www.squidoo.com
and
www.mynetscape.com
and a blog

and then did a little word press with adsense templates and tried to update a drupal site with a new clickbank offering

All that took about 4 hours

At the end of all this I felt like the only real thing I have achieved was to part company with a domain name sold in this forum, which took about 2 minutes.
Spent about a minute checking PPC earnings at Fab. They paid on time as usual this month.

Can you tell me why don't I just stick to domaining and stop mucking round with all these opportunities to publish?

Because you are increasing the value of your domain portfolio.

You might hit upon an idea or concept that makes good income. If you are adding a link to your website when you publish something, then you are promoting yourself at the same time. You never know if you might get an idea that turns into a good business.

And the old saying, 20% of your efforts make 80% of your results.

Plus it helps you learn that side of it, that will let you deal in domains much better as well. That is why I do it, now I'm going to start into name marketing.
