I believe that gregr have a friend in buildable. :)
SnapNames has many backorders for VeriSign domains.
So, it's difficult to grab domains if someone attack them _strongly_.
I lost shy.org, actually.

I've won all my snaps.
Nothing yet with Namewinner or expirefish.
haven't tried dropwizard

What possible use is there for gregr.com? Maybe a porn site?

i think the guy over at dropwizard has good intenetions, but i have not gotten a single domain from them, and have from snapnames and nameloser. It's results that count, but at least you don't pay dropwizard if they don't get the name. Maybe is he grabbed more names he could afford a better interface! Just kidding!.....

Dropwiard was really good few months ago, but yes after the drops started again, I have had 400+ lists that were snapped and I also tryed to enter some into dropwizard and they were taken, but dropwizard did get maybe 1 name out of my 400 list, the last thing I remember they got was domainshop.net

Drop Wizard has banged quite a few after the drops resumed as well. Many of the domains that are caught by DW are not mentioned on this board.

We are aware of that the ratio of successful grabs have not been as good as we have hoped lately. But Gordon is working on it as we speak. :)

And another post from 5 months ago is dug up.......

No success = NO MONEY

Well, that would depend on how many orders you are shooting for in an average per day, wouldn't it? The tendency is that when you have more domains to shoot for during one day's of drop, your success rate tend to go down. That is the ratio I'm talking about.

No I would not say so, but namewinner who has maybe 1000 times more names to monitor then dropwizard, and still they get many good names. They get $8,75 names and also $2000+ names. And namewinners catch % is %45 and snapnames also %45 and other then %10 , yes there are some catchers who only catch premium names, they only try to catch one name and probably they also get it, because they have all capacity directed to one name.

Anyway I have noticed that namewinner is taking $8,75 bid names with dotster, but over $25 names with newdentity, has someone noticed that?

shame on Drop Wizard for regging gregr.com!

oh brother...

You did!

DW missed a name for me last night that I had been waiting awhile for. :(

NW got it....

DW missed my first name with them yesterday to Buydomains who always gets what they want one way or another.

kvinsencius can you explain the logic/theory behind the new "Bonus Bid" option at DW.

I understand what it does but I don't understand why you introduced it.

All it does for me is make me feel like if I don't apply a bonus bid, my chances of getting the name are even less than usual. $120 bucks is a lot of money.

And to make it worse there is a statement on the site that says don't bother ordering a Bonus Bid on a good name if your only going to bid an additional $100. Why offer $100 as an option.

Am I missing something? Can you provide stats that show an increased success rate with a bonus bid and what the bid was?

I think adding this option has really degraded your site. JMHO, not a flame.
