Thanks for the update Webnames.
Man.... Snap resellers really got hosed, along with their customer base.
I wonder if resellers were ever given an option to somehow have a similar auction based interface before Snapnames pulled the plug on them a few weeks back?
Great business model... can't wait to use my "CREDITS" towards that once 69 dollar backorder that will now probably cost me 3 to (add your own ludicrous number here) times more!.......god, I need a drink.

There's two types of domain players, the poor and the rich. Snapnames was the only place for the poor to have a decent chance at aquiring a good domain. This is now over.

I for one will be demanding snapnames to credit my creditcard. Who wants to pay $69 for a crappy domain that won't go into auction?. Plus, if it doesn't go into auction, what happens to the other $9?.

I had a backorder on msnude on every drop registrar I know of except snapnames...
amazing they caught it.

although I understand that they need to evolve and compete, the methodology used which basicly screwed their old customers is simply unacceptable.
They should have either done the change a long time ago, or, honored their snaps and changed business models for new snaps...
Of course, this also opens the door for other types of screw overs in the business...

seeker, you could have had a slot with msnude.com had you place it there last night like steen did.

The guy that got screwed was the original holder of the snap on msnude.com , assuming snapnames still would have caught it. One day to late.

Imagine how pissed of the guy is who held the old snap on a certain 2char that's droping verrrrrrrrrrrrry soon.

Snap has helped most of us acquire great names in the past. Remember, before there was Pool and Namewinner.. there was SnapNames. And they kicked ass.

This is no longer the past.

The domain business has changed, and Snap needed to make this change to remain competitive. Otherwise, they may have gone under.

I had approximately 40 SnapBack reservations at the time they switched. I will probably weather the storm.

The newbs haven't had a playing field for a long time unless they've had bottomless pockets.

I must have Bottomless Pockets because everytime I reach into my pockets.
There is nothing in them. :-D

I was trying to keep my statement out of the adult section.

Ok, just for the record. They are still there.

(I need them to bid at Pool.) :-D

It depends on which pocket you are talking about. ;) I once (when I was much younger) shoved my hand into the front shirt pocket of a friend, forgetting she's ... yes, she's actually a girl! LOL!

Come on Nameslave, you thought she would actually fall for the old "Sorry, I thought your were a guy" routine! :)

I remember watching History of the Word Part 1 about 15 years ago. I believe in one part of the movie, the leaders of the country said " On with the Rich and Fu*k the Poor. I need to see this movie again. It was frickin hillarious.
