For Sale Snapnames email with about 100 non paid domains

I got the email but don't remember 80% of the names on the list. That doesn't mean I didn't backorder them though.

I got the list and i was only involved in just one auction from the domains that were on the list (just a $60 bid)...

Yes I am very frustrated with this too!

I had originally bid on 4 or 5 names in that list. However, one of those names I am very interested in and I was the 2nd highest bidder. Now I see that Nelson has sent this domain (along with many others) out to a handful of people in this “re-auction list”. I talked to him yesterday and expressed my concerns. I'm waiting to hear from him again. In my mind I bid fairly on this name, I was the winner of the auction. Whatever really happened to the "actual" high bidder I honestly don’t know. Nelson seemed like an honest person and I somewhat trust what he told me. (Though he did say one thing that makes me at least a little suspicious of the situation.)

Heck, I spent hours watching the domain, bidding, upping the bid, watching more. Now I'm going up against what? Maybe 20? Maybe 50 bidders or even more? In my mind this is cheating by SnapNames and a very poor decision on their part. They should have contacted all of the 2nd highest bidders initially and asked if they still wanted the domain at their price.

There are two problems with your reasoning why SnapNames might not automatically sell the domain to the 2nd highest bidder:

1.) In your situation, two people need to bid the auction very high. As I said I was a part of a bunch of these auctions and this was not the case by any means. Usually it was the top bidder going against one other person who seemed to be legitimate.

2.) Nelson explained their problem was primarily with one individual under unique circumstances. Both he and SnapNames know that I have nothing to do with this individual as do any of the other 2nd highest bidders. Thus I rightfully feel cheated and think this whole situation is a crock.

I don't think they want to panic people with the large number of prime names not paid for. This is a very serious issue, especially for auctioneers who were forced to bid up thousands of dollars and won and had to pay that price just because of a shill hit-and-run crazy bidder. Worse, if there are organized cartels of shill bidders using stolen or falsified cc details just to drive auction prices up.

hey. Can somebody post the auction results for etrust.com? THis name just sits there in limbo. I also wonder, since it is in " pending renewal deletion" status still, with a reg lock, and reg hold, then why can t Truste reclaim the name? The fact is that the whois states clearly that the name is in pending renewal deletion. Last time I checked, a name in this status could be recovered, after netsol changed there policy. ALl the names there go directly to pending renewal deletion, they dont say "redemption period" anymore. Of course I think netsol does whatever they want anyways, and knowing they had a couple 30 k bids, why would they wish to hand it back?
