For the last week or so, SnapNames has been catching almost every decent name; both Enom and Pool have been left in the dust!!

Yes, they have been doing very well...and they have great customer service.

However, it depends on what names you were chasing. Enom has caught 3 or 4 very nice domains for me recently.

Well, for example, let's take today's drop. The 10 best that I had were:

chotroi.com
courtyardhotel.com
enjoying.com
fotball.com
freeindia.com
lanterninn.com
pokerpictures.com
pureinvestor.com
saau.com
wirelessdocks.com

Pool got none, Enom got 2, and SnapNames got 8!!

Snapnames does better, indeed; however the names you listed above are from mediocre to bad.

Snapnames beats Pool in the ORG game, but Domaincatcher grabbed a few recent good ones (all dictionary words).

You're quite right about the quality but that's the REALLY bad news; there's almost nothing decent dropping anymore!!

DomainCatcher seems to almost always grab the great ORG's or INFO's; it's uncanny!

Thanks Theo :-) I have a good relationship with those guys. I had an order for Jamaica.org too (which they caught), but I took it off when the name 'appeared' to have been renewed. I caught some nice names with them recently (Cameras.org, Coding.org, Couples.org, Sweden.org, Millennium.org, SBA.org, Forest.org, Handicraft.org etc) but I pour lots of cash and time into it.

A very interesting name IMHO that I went after yesterday may have slipped under the radar: ESciFi.com. There were no bids at NameWinner, GoDaddy's back-order was still available 5 minutes before the drop, Enom's high bid was $15., etc. But it went to AUSTRIANDOMAINS, LLC (a partner with NameWinner?)
