It can depend on a couple things. Just as Shaggy and Sharpy listed above.
First, the registrar has to notify SnapNames. Some of them are very slow at doing that. And, a couple are quick.
Then, Snapnames has to notify CheapSnaps, DomainSnaps or Snaps.com if you used there service. But, that is all automated. Sending you the letter confirming that you got it.
So, most of the time you would know within 4 hrs of drop time.
But, it can go for a day or so. (Worst case scenerio, I had one go for 3 days, buts that's rare. "Directi")
If your exchanges dropped to zero (assuming you were not at zero). Then, just sit tight. You got it.
