Anything to do with ULTSearch.com? But ULT is in HK, no?
If you are referring to Hong Kong, I understand that is where he did set up shop. If not HK=HongKong, then I am not sure of the meaning.

how long ago?
If you are asking when did he sell, about 3 or four years ago, if I recall.

Don't you always wonder if it's dumb luck to be in the right place at the right time. I mean no matter how hard some very smart and brilliant people try they will never have wealth. Yet, some people seem to just walk into it right at the right time. It always amazes me, as if there are some secrets too making wealth and also no secrets just be in the right place at the right time. Interesting stories, the one in the new article and the one about the domain guy. Thanks.

Like registering a two letter domain name like ID.COM or IT.com for the unreal price of about $199.99.

Egad, who wants to do that. This internet thing will never succeed.

So he breaks into a few posh houses, takes a shower, has a nap.....we've all done it...

It does sound like fun, perhaps I will locate a nice five story condo in New York. LOL

Maybe tie it in with flash mobbing - someone gets home from a night out and finds 800 people showering and grabbing some zeds...

Yun Ye just contacted me and told me to post, and tell you guys keep his name out of your mouth.

Yea, I'm telling a fib

lmao :)

I've read stories about ULTSearch.com and how they make over $100,000 a day with a massive portfolio.
Only know Yun Ye since today.

Good find!!!

The copyright of the article you posted was 2002-2004. It mentioned a portfolio of 50,000. By the time he sold it the portfolio was much larger than that, it was reported.

I had also read somewhere that he had made up to $6mil per month. It was perhaps in late 2004 he sold the porfolio.

So, yeah, the moral of the story is...

take showers in stranger's houses and save even more money on hot water bills.

Yea, I'm telling a fib
Fibs are permitted and welcomed and encouraged on the forum.

Revenue earned from his portfolio made up 1% of Yahoo's entire 2004 revenue.

Well, I had to wait a little while but if you hurry right now to Network Solutions WHOIS and put in "MarylandCPAs.com" (Pool grabbed it for Vertical Axis during yesterday's (Easter Sunday) drop) and click on the "IP Address" at the bottom of the page, you come up with Marchex, Inc. (They're the people who bought Yun Ye's entire "Ultimate Search" portfolio!) for the Pool registrar CVO.ca.

Now this might be an indication of one of two things: Vertical Axis is maybe aligned with Marchex or Marchex maybe--secretly!--owns Pool!

I could be way off base here. Mere speculation on my part either way.

Wrong, Marchex monetizes Pool drops until they transfer.

Sweet way to find out what's worth bidding on - did someone say insider trading, or was it just me?

Or is that between auction and transfer?
