I recently got hold of many great domains related to football (soccer). I am going to build a network of sites. Is it possible to get some RSS feeds on;

Soccer News;
Results;
Stats etc.

And exactly how do they work. Any help is great.

I charge $15 (one time) fee for an installed feed. I put an example of a yahoo news feed with the keyword phrase "european football" on a domain I normally have NASA feed on to show you what you would get. www.spacevisa.com The feed requires 1 mysql db. You can have multiple different news organization feeds, each with a different keyword, feeding the same results page. Content remains fresh each time or you can cache it for as long as you want in hours.

My requirements are the db name/user/user password. And your ftp info. (user/pw)
I can create the mysql db for you if you lack that knowledge and are using cpanel.

Looks good wilco. I'm wanting to do similar. I have many domains that I want to look exactly the same, but change the actual content.

Do you know how to do that?

Rich.

Ps. on the development side, I may contact you regard the xml/rss feeds.

Rich, for the http://www.myfootballnews.co.uk XML/RSS stuff they provide some javascript that you can easily use in your sites.. only takes a minute.

the rest is custom stuff i have written, using coldfusion built in XMLParse routines.. and basic templates..

What i'd like is a script that uses one template - that changes dynamically from a DB or something like..

myplayer.com/index.php
myplayer.com/index.php?name=michealowen?page=biography
myplayer.com/index.php?name=michealowen?page=images
myplayer.com/index.php?name=michealowen?page=other

Can this be done?

The problem with certain java script rss feeds is that they are not going to be read by Search Engines. So you lose any content/rankings benefit from Google. If it's inserted with SSI by Perl or CGI, or if it's input by PHP, ASP, etc, then it will be indexed. To make newsfeeds visible to search engines, their text has to be embedded into your page. If you view the source of your page and you don't see the actual text of the newsfeed, then search engines aren't going to see it either.
