Fantastic name. Low-mid 6 figures is my guess.

What's traffic like?

Hi,

Just put the name on sedo about 2 days ago - It was never used and it picked up over 300 type ins so far. I was pretty impressed with it.

Thanks for your feedback.

This must be worth $$$,$$$. Awesome name, traffic is a nice bonus too. I wouldn't sell this for 5 figures.

IMO it can fetch high-$$$$$ with no problems.

Nice name Rob,

While high xx,xxx may be tempting (reseller)
- IMO this premium name will fetch you low - mid XXX,XXX (end user)

With steady traffic, obviously, some development would do the domain well and increase it's profile.

Best of Luck with All Your Endeavours!

I agree with acro,

What it is now IMO is worth about 20k and that will only rise with long term development. ppc for the term is real low so.

Thanks for the feedback everybody.

I checked some terms on overture:
sociology schools - top bid of 1.99
sociology courses - top bid of 0.50

I think these are pretty good. Development will certainly be something I will explore.

I can't see it being worth more than $25,000 personally.

I think you need to look beyond ppc and think of what an end user (business or school or organization or individual) can do on the world scale to develop profitable turn-key solutions related to the sociology community of practise while easily marketing this highly recognizable name - also knowing that the study of sociology and the internet go very well together.

I'm sure you will do well either way. :)

Great name, worth at least mid $xx,xxx.

How long have you owned it and why all of the sudden you decide to put it on Sedo 3 days ago? What were you doing with it before?

Thanks for the responses.

I purchased the domain from a company in Europe who originally registered it for potential development in early 97. They have never used it. It took quite a while to acquire.

Thanks, Rob

No doubt its a great generic single word, but its best suited for an acedemic type of site. As DCG said the advertising is not so hot for that keyword. Google doesn't bring up such great adsense for it. So I would say $25K -$50k. Good luck with it.
