I was wondering if anyone knows is there any software you can buy to try and grab expired domains? I am not sure if this would even be possible, I dont know how the system works for sure, but is there software you can buy that does what sites like pool, dodaddy, snap, enom, etc. do to grap expiring names? How do those sites get access to be able to do what they do? What is to prevent anyone from creating their own site and offering a back order service? It seems kind of odd there are not more sites offering back ordering services than there are. Could someone explain a little more how that works? Thanks.

Registered Registrars with limited connections to the registry. It is all about resources. You want "one" connection to the registry? Spend the bucks to become a registrar. The problem is that one connection will not be able to compete with Pool and eNom because of the combined connections they use (they have agreements with other registrars to use their connections).

To answer your question, yes you can run a script and try and catch domains. Try desktopapi and an enom reseller account.

Domainnut,

It's not as simple as it may seem...

There are desktop programs that allow you to grab domains off the drop, but if you are competing against any of the big services, you will most likely lose.

There is a wealth of information to be found here if you dig a little, and I'm sure others will be happy to add their 2 cents.

Try this :
eNom Domain Grabber is a fully automated domain name registration system. The offering of automatic registration software is truly unique. url -> http://www.dnware.com/

Hope it's useful.

Thanks

I am in the process of changing my user name actually with the staff. I wouldnt have gone with this one if I knew there was another user going with a similar spelling. Should have it changed in a day or two.

Who was here first DomainNut or Domainut?

I think Domainut beat you by a couple days. Or, was that years!!!

Sid, was here before I was!!!!

As for a drop catcher.

They are only good if NONE of the services are chasing that particular name.

They are good for mediocre or crappy names. But, don't kid yourself that you
are going to beat a registrar that is going for the name.

If the name has value, you will have to pay the catching services to catch it for you.

If you want to buy a catching script, buy it from Daniel.
Just don't expect a lot of success catching quality names.

The admin has now changed it. My user name is no longer domainNut, but is now nameplanet. Hopefully everything will carry over and be ok.
