None of these operating systems was ever going to support IE 7.0.

Yes, it is good news for IDN; not sure
IE6 will be 'killed off' in weeks though,
I am think the timeframe for that will
be more like years (perhaps 18mo/2 years).

You can continue to run what you like, but for all OS that do not support IE 7.0 are being killed off. This is clearly part of the run up to IE 7.0 and means that they don't have to do any more abortive work on IE 6.0. I would think that you have had or are about to get your last security update for IE 6.0. That doesn't mean that you cannot continue to use it, but it means few actually will.

Yep, agreed. It is big news to be sure
and it makes even more sense when we
consider that IE6 was 'the mistake', the
crappy insecure browser that MS never
really got right and would rather we
forgot...

MS now have an accelerated program of
browser development (and release) and it
will only be a matter of time before IE6
becomes a distant memory for pretty much
everyone.

Again, this is huge news for IDN; I feel the
importance of this cannot be underestimated,
and yes, the emphasis on now on op systems
and browsers that support IDN.
