I knew there were some good names dropping today, but the NW bids are getting out of hand. Are they doing more advertising to retail market? is the value of domains on the rise? Or is everyone going mad?

Namewinner could (even though I don't believe this) be driving up some bids just to make us think people are bidding more to drive up other genuine bids. They can pick and choose what they run anyways. It would be nice if it wasn't blind bidding and we knew who were were up against like on ebay. But it's to their advantage not to let us know anymore than we need to.

Seen.com is at $3,882.00 on Pool.com
3d 17h 4 m til auction ends.
Anyone want me to bid on it for them ? :D

Btw - i just thought Pool.com has a pretty clever business model really; by not auctioning the name before the drop actually occurs like NW does but *after* they got the name, they're actually NO dropservice in my point of view though.
They sell it as a dropservice but what is actually happening is they catch names for themselves and resell them like lots of us do, just that in their case they do it through an auction.

That is not the case with the low names that only have one "bid" of course, but for any better names they get.

Don't think they will be giving any of that money to charity either....
