Most common term for auction is "subasta", pl. subastas. "Almoneda" is a less used term that has almost the same meaning, but does not include real estate and other high value goods, then is generally associated to cheap objects. Almoneda is also the place where the bidding takes place.

"Almonedar" (also "almonedear") is a verb that means "to sell something" in an "almoneda", so it can be better translated as "to auction".

Well, I'm from Spain, I'm Spanish, and I can say that "Almonedar" is NOT that spanish word (auction). So, I think moderators should ban this user.

almoneda.
(Del ár. hisp. almunáda, y este del ár. clás. munādāh).
1. f. Venta pública de bienes muebles con licitación y puja.
2. f. Venta de géneros que se anuncian a bajo precio.
3. f. Local donde se realiza esta venta.

As you can see, the correct word is "almoneda", and although in spanish also exists almonedar, which would be usually used like almonedear, I think very little people will know about the meaning of this words.

As I said, I think this user is trying to inflate the value of thios domain.
