I'M giving this name back to marvel comics, i could not help myself it just sounded to cool! thinking of names is just to addicting. the first name i ever registered is getthefreedish.com@getthefreephone.com. Since then i registered over 100 names, trying to think of every marketing angle i can. realestate is fun, the most challenging. i stumbled upon beachhomes4sale.com, lakehomes4sale.com, and about 50 other 4sale type names. evergas.com, wordpuzzeler.com, nytimes is one of the only not porn sites on the web, accually making money directly of the web. how they do it? crossword puzzeles! 90% (so i heard) are not willing to pay for content. the trend of generic names is nearly over, companies will soon be looking for bennefit name specific. that means, hold onto your dot coms, waite for the timeing. think of a good dot com name like it was 1964, if you bought a house at that time, think what is worth today. urls are the same way! big pocket companies have to much invested for it to be anything other than .com .

That's a dangerously motherhood statement 2 base your business model on. Thousands b4 have already tried that and found themselves locked in with sawdust and fast approaching renewal financial woes.

registering a domain name, regardless of extenstion, does not guarantee a return. You can improve the odds by looking at what the market seems most willing to pay for. There is plenty of data out there to help with that decision.

Alternatively, you could make a speculation that a certain type of domain will sell well in the future (whether tech names like 3g or alternative tld's).

If you play it right you can have a very good revenue stream, if you play it wrong you can end up with having to refinance the domain holding come renewal time with the possability of not selling during that period either.

Its unlikely prices will return to the levels seen back in 99 as those prices were not based on any foundation other than hope. These days companies pay based on more sensible metrics, like memorability, suitability and in some cases traffic. This has led to a more stable market - but at a more realistic price level.

Just don't spend more on domains than you can afford to lose. If/When you get into profit with your domains its a totally different ballgame.

Are you giving it back because they twisted your arm with a notification? The WHOIS records show you just now registered it.

Didn't you check with USPTO before you registered??? Aiyayaa, it's like throwing money into the drain, especially now when the Spiderman movie has just been released.
