Hi.

I'm starting a new Casino portal site and am trying to get some traffic in. I'v already submitted to search engines but want to know if there is any suggestions out there to boot search popularity and bring in traffic.

No banners as they suck, so i wonder if there is any link exchanges or such which work good.

Thanks.

Partner up with other sites. Download the Google toolbar and exchange links (manually) with sites that have a high Google page rank (5 and above is a good recip).

Optimize your site by linking to and having links in from sites that correlate well with your content. Build your page so that it is fully optimized for search engines, meaning keyword density, linking keywords, anchor links etc.

Submitting your site to se's will get you no where unless your site has relevant content and relevant sites linking to you.

Hint: go to www.freebiespace.com and look at my internal linking strategy. Next, look at the header on the page that reads "Free Product Samples and Free Trial Offers from Freebie Space!". As it appears to be 10 font it is really much larger (this is totally legal w/ Google). Name your ccs according to the keywords you are targetting.

Content, content, content....

I was wondering ... does anyone know how the Google toolbar works? I want to create a script that obtains the PageRank for a page you mention by simulating the Google toolbar

I am not sure how it works but I am sure it takes everything from links-in to keyword density into consideration.

doubt you could do that
google keep their algorithym secret

you might struggle to get good traffic at first since there are so many casino sites out there

and you will struggle to get a pr - to do this i would add a lot of content to your site - most casino sites are nothing more than banners and links but your pr will be much higher if you add say 10 pages of content - for example, rules of certain games etc

Hi Fonz

That was my intent. Most sites out there are banner farms. Although i do plan on having pages with content like rules, strategies to increase odds of winning, news and discussion forums. I'v already put some content on the site and will keep adding some. My hope is that the information will make it more of a community than just a straight banner ad repository.

Right now, i'v submitted to engines and started doing reciprocal linking to boost search engine scores and will keep adding content and improving graphics (without going overboard like many gambling sites out there).

Then i will see what other forms of advertisement i could use like opt-in emails. But i sill have to search and try to filter out the scams from the legitimage advertising.

Thanks.

PPC is an option but be warned. Casino costs are around £20 for no. 1 in the uk overture lists.

Try links, make sure its built around themes and dont over submit it to SE's

Pay for a directory list if possible!
