Just curious. When President Reagan named his proposed missle defense system "StarWars", was there a TM issue raised? I don't remember any. But then, my memory is slipping with old age.
Lucasfilm is and for over twenty years developed a reputation for producing films of the highest quality. As detailed herein, Lucasfilm is the owner of trademark rights in and to the STAR WARS films, and all associated characters, logos, elements, and names.
i ll reg as TM "i m in love " and i ll go to court anyone that uses it...
i don t know if you are gonna have trouble with TM issues , but in my opinion "star wars " is a common frase , it was Lucas fault he didn t name the movie something else..
huh? it's only a common phrase because the movie made a jillion dollars and spawned 5 sequels (so far).
but to answer the original question, I don't think there is a corporation on earth that is more protective of their trademarks than lucasfilm. this domain is absolutely worthless as an investment. you could try setting up a fan page, but that will just get their attention and the domain will be taken from you.
your best bet is to concede defeat before they even know who you are and contact them to make arrangements for the peaceful handover. maybe they'll throw some action figures your way as gratitude. but don't count on it.
