Which are the most valuable strategy in selling a dn?

I know that waiting till someone will type in the domain and will buy it is not the best one.

Calin

First thing to do, post in SALE thread, participate in weekend auction and list your domains to other auction sites. So far, very effective for me.

start high on a name than negiotate

I try to sell some domains on ebay and afternic but without a big success.

But I have to be more perseverent.

There are some specify sites for name auctins?

Thanks,
Calin

I tried ebay too, it costed me, but not effective.

I maintained www.domainbid.biz, you may list your domain name for FREE. Then redirect your domain to the www.domainbid.biz, so visitor to your domain name will redirect them to bid. It's very effective to my domain name sales.

Simple ... OWN good domains that others would want! :)
Good Luck.

yes, this the key to success. but their are other ways which I have learned...

participation in many different forums will help you to learn
"net socialization.com", which is important when dealing with personalities and tastes (what people like). also you can gauge
average pricing for particular domain name sales. View what type of names are selling rapidily and the names people want.
it is important that you display a level of maturity and also be humble. You must build credibility and maintain it. Respond quickly to inquiries from any of your advertisements and be flexible, but
not foolish. above all be willing to provide a good reputable service and try to build some good relationships.

Good Luck

Buy low and sell high. Take no credit card.

selling to other salers is not such a good ideea...they pay nothing for a good domain name.

If you have not join the live auction yet. I highly recommend that you do. Easy sale of domain name. This is every saturday night.

Just another way of selling your domains.

there is a list with the domains that were sold and at what price? (for the saturday night live auction)

I think that if you want to make a higher profit on your names it will take a bit of marketing work on your part.

One of the biggest variables in the selling of any object is that of emotion -something that many of the valuation models have yet to capture. In short, you have to approach the selling of domain names as a salesman and not as an auctioneer.

You should co to find a buyer or you wait for one?

Any input on which is faster ?? waiting for the buyer or looking for a buyer ??

Countless hours over the last three years and thousands of $$ have taught me:

Be very selective in registering/buying names and stay away from “vanity” names unless you’ve a specific reason for picking one. In the long run, genuine keyword names and established word-combo names (Used Cars; Vacation Rentals; Alternative Medicine, etc) EVEN in the new TLD’s are likely to do better than vanity names (Go Shop; Top Buys; Cool Deals, etc) in .com.

Try putting some work in your domains even it’s a holding page with some general info on the subject matter the domain is about, some relevant links and contact info. You're much more likely to do this if you're yourself convinced of the value of the domain. If you yourself realize/feel the domain is not worth putting any effort in, how would others find it worthy enough to buy?

Go to the Overture bid tool at:
http://uv.bidtool.overture.com/d/USm/search/tools/bidtool/ and see how many advertisers are there for the EXACT word(s) of your domain. Its very helpful to use this tool prior to registering/buying a domain and afterwards one can consider (may wana get legal advice before this) sending individualized letters to the advertisers indicating that the domain is available for acquisition; its always very helpful if the letter is addressed to the right person.

Just my 0.002$

Good Luck Domaining..:)

how do I know who is the right person?

That's probably the most difficult and arduous task of all...many times it involves getting on the phone and doing little "detective work"....one potential buyer at a time!!
