WASHINGTON, DC â According to a groundbreaking new study by the Department of Labor, working hard (the act of vigorously engaging in productive activity) may greatly increase the amount of valuable domains accumulated during one's lifetime, especially when compared with the more common practices of sitting on your ass and complaining that hard working Domainers have managed to collect most of the best domains.
"Our findings are astounding: By simply sitting down and doing work, a Domain Investor can dramatically increase their chances of landing good domains," said the Deputy Secretary of Labor, who authored the report. "In fact, 'working hard' may even revolutionize your domain portfolio."
Perhaps even more shocking, the study reveals that not working hard significantly decreases a Domain Investor's chances of landing good domains, sometimes even resulting in no domains being found at all. Similar findings were reported in the areas of avoiding good advice about domaining, putting off working hard, complaining about hard working Domain Investors instead of actually working hard, pretending to be a Domain Investor, and just doing jack squat all day long.
"Doing 'jack squat' all day long is in fact detrimental to the investing process," the study reads in part.
To conduct the study, researchers split the staff of a well known domain name forum into two groups and assigned each group a series of tasks to be completed by the end of the day. The control group engaged in doing normal "jack squat" activities, such as sitting around and web surfing, staring vacantly at the computer screen, and calling friends to complain about their unfair position in life. The other group was instructed to do work hard and complete it's given tasks. Incredibly, the group that did not do any work failed to locate or invest in any decent domains, while the group that did engage in hard work managed to locate and buy decent domains even in today's competitive market.
The researchers even believe that these lessons could possibly be applied to fields outside the domain industry
