initial bid was at 1.05k. I overslept until 1pm so I missed it by 2 hours. oh well... it wasn't just the name but the 100+ backlinks as well.

Ok Ill make it point form...

Years ago a guy named Glenn starts up a News site called Monitor.ca, it goes so-so and eventualy not worth carryiing ( as I read it ).

Glenn sales out to a company called Performance Printing.

Performance Printing decided to kill the site and its service ( news ).

Name eventually is set to drop ( as we know ). Performance Printing is offered thousands of dollars for monitor.ca domain name. Even the CFO is looking into it, all the while ths clock is ticking. Turns out a former employee claims ownership, has control of the name and says it is his and he is renewing it, dont worry. Who actually owned it was in dispute but ultimately the admin didnt renew it as he said he would which leads me to believe he didnt and just spited the company.

Tada it drops, story over.

No congrats, I didnt get it. The sellers ( company/admin ) didnt renew it which ment I didnt bid for it and never had a shot. In the end a ex employee may have spited the company, not 100% sure.

Because it was never supposed to drop.

I was on this name ages ago, tracking the who person to get on the phone, the former employee/admin contact everyone. An agreement was reached but I think the admin contact didnt renew it in the end as he wasnt happy with the former employer.
