Testing the waters to domain trends and especially to 5L.com

As everybody here in the forum i love domains.
It doesn't matter which generic high value domain i have/will get
I always like to discover more, new names or just trends. I feel like Pacman, i like dots A LOT.

I test the water for different trends.
Sometimes i just put a finger, sometime the whole leg :)

Prefix trends (e,i), suffix trends (360.com), pattern trends (VCVCV, CVCVC...)

Lately i wanted the see how the 5L.com can go and tried today after 8 months of their registration to sell 87 of them for only $5 each

I noticed views but no sale interest so far
The same sale offers for a set of CCC.net went MUCH better. All my CCC.net gone quickly and we're talking for NLL, NNL and other combinations, nothing so fancy.

I agree that the 5L.com are fragile and risky, many names are crap but there is some interest.
I didn't want to increase their value that's why i tried to flip with $5 that is less than reg.fee

What's your opinion about the 5L market ?

Hi

random 5 letter domains, that don't have significant meaning, at this point have no value.

imo...

the only valuable 5 letter domains are generic dictionary words imo. 3 letter domains are doing quite well, 2 letter domains are worth investing in.

I think the best 5l names are those that resemble other words. For instance trava.com sold for a decent amount in action. It reminds you of a travel name. On the other hand a name like zoboa.com, while pronounceable is not directly related to anything and is going by the way it sounds only.

A name like talki.com would make a great phone company name, a name like blogo.com will make a great blog site, but mokod.com does not directly relate to anything

-my 2 cents

I think only very brandable 5L domains are worth registering.
