Just a question to my fellow Canadians ...

CIRA has been very regular with their 30 day drop cycle (30 days after expiry the name drops).

Has anyone noticed that the names that expired on Dec 1 (I think 22,000 or more) have been broken up and actually do not start dropping til January 8th? Anyone know of the reason for this?

CIRA has actually shut down its daily TBR since 24 December 2002. All dot-ca's that would normally have been released during this period will be released on 8 January 2003.

Actually thousands of names that expired on 01 December 2002 have already been renewed during this 30-day grace period.

Yeah, a lot of names got renewed... I hate it when people wait until the last minute!

I waited 2 years for an expired domain and then it got renewed
