This September 26 will be the two year anniversary of the launch of .mobi.

Hundreds of thousands of domains were registered in September and October of 2006 with minimum two year reg dates.

So, do you anticipate a big .mobi drop of tens of thousands of names coming up?

(Please leave out all the ".mobi sucks" posts)

I would like to hear if you will be dropping or renewing your .mobi domains.

I think I will only renew about 25%.

I plan to renew my 2 .mobi's!

If I still owned the other 40 which I bought in Nov / Dec '06, I would let 90% drop.

I'll be renewing most of mine, including the LLLs. Good keywords are good keywords!

Of course there will be pruning too!

I'll keep most of mine but may drop a handful. It helps that the reg fee has come down.

Considering the only two I have left have gotten 16 visitors all year between them - it's time to drop them.

Probably. That would be very normal and promising for .mobi if only "tens of thousands" dropped at the first landrush renewal cycle. Speculators have reg'd a bunch of real junk names so I'd expect lots of junk names to drop. But I'm sure decent names that drop will be snatched up quickly.

The cream always rises to the top.

if all goes as planned i will pick up hundreds of decent quality drops.

i do anticipate a very large percentage of those initial 2 year mandatory registrations not being renewed.

already have renewed at least 99% of mine (i have around 400 currently)... the only ones ive dropped so far were typo's i made while registering generic terms.
