it's fun as I drive the prices up.

yes... it's happened only twice.

I assumed they had some script that no matter what I do 'they' will increase it, but on 2 occasions I got BS names for $360 and $510!!!

I lost a pool name a few days ago to a bidder on one name, and won the auction on the other.
I *know* it is the same bidder as they used the exact same increase method 160-260 (in $).
on the first name, I bid 310 and got it for 270
on the second one, I lost it as my max bid was 108, and the same thing happened, it shows that a bidder bid twice, 160 and 260.
I just (now) received an email from pool saying I won that domain for 108!!!

what on Earth is going on???
my conspiracy theory is at it again.
How do I know it wasnt some guy working for them that said, 'lets hike up the price and if it doesnt work, we'll give it to him'??

Should they not ask me If it is ok after all these days?
what If in the meantime, I used my credit card to purchase something else, since I assumed I lost the second bid??

this is getting ridiculous.
I'd rather be playing a real game of pool, than this version...

I too just got an email for 3 domains I was outbid on - although the auction for them finished 2 weeks ago - I was made the winner it seems.
I think its more then likely they couldnt get the money from the bidder - great we get the domains, but whats to stop a non paying bidder increasing future auctions? something needs to be done, and it aint WLS thats gonna solve it.

They must have had some bidders that did not pay.

Or, maybe, something else.

I am pretty sure Pool doesn't have someone bidding against bidders. Because, If it came to light, it would destroy their business.

Unfortunately, one of the names I really bid more than I would normally bid. So, ouch!!!

Oh, well.

They must be cleaning up their accounting.
