People keep talking about “the biggest domain markets”. China. United States. India. Germany.

That discussion usually skips the most important distinction.

If you want to understand real domain behavior, you don’t look at total registrations. You look at domain penetration per inhabitant.

That ratio shows whether domains are cultural infrastructure or just numerical noise.

I wouldn't be so sure about China.. in terms of aftermarket.. wholesale - yes, though I really doubt the number of aftermarket deals when compared to countries with open economics.. everything is on wechat there.. incl. Hong-Kong
