I am currently accepting nominations for the Worst Registrar of 2006. Please post all nominations in the thread. The winner will receive the offical "You Suck" award and maybe they will change their ways.

I nominate Regfly.com for their 9/10 failed registrations, slow website, and confusing interface.

Registerfly as well; because they continue to spam me with weekly "specials" even though I haven't used them in 3 years.

I vote regfly as well.
Unreliable, buggy scripts and slow customer service.
My support request still unopened after 4 days, unacceptable :upset:

Hi Rock,
i used to hate regfly, but can't ignore the 0.75 cent regges
If you credit your account first, via paypal/credit card etc, then you can purchase problem free after. works for me.
For the worlds wordt registrars, then you have to look at England.
Noone does it worse than us.
123-reg are pretty horrendous with their premium rate dollar a minute phone line. They have improved though, they are just shite now.
Without doubt THE WORLDS WORST REGISTRAR IS

UK2.NET = C*NTS
NEVER USE THIS SCUM.

I'll go into more detail later................

Godaddy have to be worth a nomination too.
I started the year loving them, they have fallen down in so many areas they have to get a vote.
Looking around this forum they have pissed off many people.
Terrible for transfers.
*Poor customer support.
*Friendly staff but with only enough knowledge to write on the back of a postage stamp.
*Too high reg fees
etc

1.aplus.net (too dumb support)
2.netsol.com (too much hassle, need faxing them id to transfer domains)
3.regfly.com ( takes your money for registering domains and doesn't refund if registration failed)

1. Register.com

Reasons…

1. Have to call them in order to obtain auth codes
2. No way to create an account, other than by buying a name (this makes pushing domains to other people who don’t have an account there impossible).
3. Crappy, slow support.
4. Expensive reg fees

2. NetSol - Unsurpassed reputation for allowing names to be "nicked"

DomainPeople.com.

1. I had preregistered over 500 .mobis at domainpeople.com. I had a question about the queue, but the Sales Rep was kind to me. He started to talk to me aggressively. i checked the way that i was speaking, but i was ok, non-aggressive. But the Sales rep was still yelling at me! :greenconfused: I just had a question, but he was answering a different one. Then he hungup on me.
I later checked my account and ALL the .mobis that i had registered were GONE!!! :veryangry:

2. Their domainpeople.mobi domain search sucks and is not accurate.:upset:

Enom need to be mentioned here
Very expensive to reg. 2 tier pricing strategy.
Riddled with holes, including haven for domain thieves. Password system on doamins crazy!
Why people like these guys is beyond me. Also means i have to have a bloody account so people can push names i buy.
They def, get a vote.
Plus they don't give a fu*k about the faults.

I have to say I vote domainsite.
From my own experience domainsite are just awful.
I was watching the .info drops, there were a lot of ccc.info dropping. As soon as they expired I regged them. IT Failed, so I checked again, none were regged, and I tried again. I tried some individually, tried different payment methods etc until finally after my 5th time I checked and another domainsite user had registered them !!

yes i agree. forgot about 1 & 1 . they are truly shit.
you wanna try being a .co.uk customer. you're not allowed the prices off their .com site with a uk address.
it costs money when pushing internally i believe/ you automatically have to pay a renewal fee/
anyways, they are crap, avoid at all costs.

I don't understand why so many different registrars are still being used. Same with Parking companys. With the information we share, shouldn't all of our business eventually be focused to just the 2 or 3 that do the best job?

I started at Godaddy as all newbs do. I saw all the good press on Moniker here and switched. Never used anyone else, so I don't have anyone to complain about.

Hi Duck,
yes i agree wholheartedly. Problem comes like tonight for example.
I bought a cheap $10 domain on here. Owner is with dynadot. I have never been with them , i have to open a free account for the push. It will cost me to transfer out. Hey presto i'm with another frigging registrar. However i will never pay to register any with them.
Merry christmas folks!
It's Christmas Eve here. :)
Roll on 2007
