The official term for this kind of word is "adjectivals".

"Bay Staters" is the official term (state legislature voted to confirm this) for residents of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The other two adjectivals are self-explanatory.

I was very surprised that I was able to register these names in 2008.

Is is possible that many of us are so busy registering trash like ThreeWordCombination.biz that we forget about basics like the adjectivals for the 50 states of the United States?

Compare these names with the Web site www.TheCalifornian.com, which is the Web site of a large newspaper from Salinas, CA. Several other comparable Web sites also use adjectivals. You can just go through the list of the 50 states and see what I mean.
