I just registered that name. What do you think it's worth? I know it's a long name and that'll hurt the value.

I burst out laughing when I read that.

$0. Name is too long.

I am with you on this one. First off they use a different Alphabet, so it is prime IDN territory. Secondly, it is only called that because for the timebeing the UN won't allow them to call it Macedonia. Thirdly, there is a commonly used Acronym and finally I would have fallen asleep before I got to the end of typing that!

Best Regards

Why would you register such a long name? $0 - your loss of a Reg Fee

Same here. I am new here and in domain game but would not make this kind of silly mistakes of registering this kind of names.

No one has time in today's world to type in this URL in their browsers.

If you need the URl service then please refer to tinyurl or something.

Still can't control the laughing. Thanks.

I would not register this and not even include it in the portfolio. Just dump it to someone who is willing to buy it as soon as possible. (If selling this name is possible)

Moreover this will not hurt the domains value but it will hurt your whole collection or your prestige as a domain seller if you go out in market with this kind of names.

Does it receive type-in traffic? Did you register all the possible typo's for this name?

This domain is worthless, but not for the reasons mentioned here.

The full name of the country is "Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia" - without the "The" at the beginning.

FYROM is the shorthand version.

Also, for educational purposes I suggest you visit http://www.macedonia.com about why this former portion of Yugoslavia is a thorn on the backside of the Balkan peninsula. It's a serious political and historical issue.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Dave Wrixon here for once. It does seem like it would be best suited in "IDN Territory" or some other strange place until it comes up for renewal. Then delete the thing.

Thanks,

Actually, this not a place a would invest. Too small and too little real economic activity!

We have seen very large IDN Type-In from China in the last few days recorded through Sedo (100 Plus uniques per domain per day). I have been speaking to Sedo to try and find and what is going on. They are a little surprised, but very interested! Once deliberation have established what is happening and where we are going on this I will keep everyone posted in regard to IDN Traffic and Sedo's strategies to capitalise on this traffic.

Due to the interest in www.IDNForums.com recently, it is clear that is growing interest in IDN and I expect a lot more people chasing me for information in the coming months.

I don't expect people to agree with me, without considerable justification, but it is gratifying to see that some at least have an open mind!

Best Regards
